Timeline

We follow our traditional timber business, built by our ancestors. Sri. Kelappan, the renowned freedom fighter set the foundation of Cherikunnumal Timbers.

  • 1970 - Our first firm was Virthavan timbers at Vadakara, selling, timber logs and sawn size.
  • 1990 - Started selling timber logs and sawn size in the name of Cherikunnumal timbers at Koyilandy.
  • 1993 - Due to the huge demand for timber in the Malabar region, we stepped to our new firm Cherikunnumal Wood Industry(A small scale sawmill)at Koyilandy.
  • 1999 - During the period 1990-1999 timber market was at peak level and hence we could not manage with small saw-mill so in 1999 we start a new saw-mill named Nateri Wood Industry at Naduvathor.
  • 2003 - Registered to Cherikunnumal Timber Trading Company.
  • 2019 - We expanded to Cherikunnumal Furniture.
